Brees throws 5 TD passes, Eyeing 2nd Superbowl in 3 years
The New Orleans Saints are eyeing a second Super Bowl trophy in three years. With the 42 to 20 victory over the Vickings on Sunday. With the win the Sanits have 11 or more wins 6 times in Franchise history. 3 under the control on Brees which mean onlhy 3 others in long years before.
Drew Brees threw for 412 yards and 5 touchdowns to lead the Saints to their sixth win in a row, over the lowly Vikings on Sunday.
Brees completed 32 of 40 passes to help the Saints (11-3) overcome a slow start to stay 2 games ahead of “The Dirty Birds” in the NFC South. With a Monday night meeting coming next week.
“I’m as comfortable now in this offense as I’ve ever been,” said Brees, who credited the team’s stability in the front office, the coaching staff and the roster with his success this season.
His latest masterpiece has him breathing down Dan Marino’s neck in the record books, just 304 yards away from the Hall of Famer’s single-season passing record set in 1984.
“I’m aware that we’re close,” Brees said. “I just know if we keep doing what we’re doing all of that stuff will take care of itself.”
The Current Passing Stats to chase of the single season record are:
Drew Brees 4,780 needs 304 to break record
Tom Brady 4,593 needs 491 to break record
Eli Manning 4362 needs 722 to break record
Aaron Rogers 4360 needs 724 to break record
Its looks that Brees and Brady will both break the record held by Dan Marino since the 1984 season, but only time will tell. Marino could drop from 1st to 5th place by season’s end
This Bloggers hopes to see a Brady vs Brees Superbowl but I can only hope. The scoring in that game would be off the charts.
